Sprouts IO
Sprouts IO is a smart indoor gardening system that learns from and adjusts to your habitat. I worked directly with the client to design the alpha build of the app, the first software that could communicate with the hardware they created for indoor consumer hydroponic growing. I worked with hardware engineers to create a product our client could bring into testing with an initial group of customers.
For the last several years SproutsIO has been scaling their product and audience largely creating a specialized seed catalogue for professional chefs.
Growth & Activity Timeline
In creating this build, our client wanted to test as many of the different features that the hardware could provide. We created a timeline that slides horizontally through a full growing cycle, and vertically that shows a user a full-day breakdown of actions. From this panel they can acess controls that they can manipulate, and view levels that the system can measure such as water level and the amount of light the plant has absorbed. The hardware itself can snap photos, which would automatically upload to the timeline of the plant, users can also snap and upload photos to the timeline to track growth and one day build a social experience around growing.
